  1. My old one was reading half that. Region of 0.326 or something.
  2. Engine off: 0.750 approx. Engine idle: 0.795 approx creeping up to 0.810+ Engine @ 3500: 0.999+
  3. New r/r had been installed, seems to start a lot better. Put meter on and it seems to be charging at idle at around 12.90v - 12.95v, when I Rev to 5000 it drops 11.65v. Is that how it should be?
  4. Will be ordering one first thing in the morning. Will keep this post updated and thank you all for your help and advice.
  5. Yes, only getting approximately 12v no matter what revs.
  6. Am getting the readings from the front of the plug, on the pins themselves. Have checked cables in that location and none look burnt out or melted.
  7. Can I ask a very stupid question. If the r/r is showing readings where it is supposed to as per videos, not as high readings though but reading all the same. Then how can the r/r be faulty. Am not second guessing anyone, just would like a better understanding. Checked the stator again and definitely getting 60v @ 5000 and 70v @ around 5500
  8. I thought it may be. I shall double check again just to ease my mind. Further advice please, you all have been extremely helpful. What would you recommend, a used genuine r/r or a new pattern part. Both are being sold on an auction site?
  9. Ok here goes, if I used the multi meter correctly then I got the following results: Stator wires: I got approx. 60v from each of the wires. R/R wires: I got a range from 0.350 to 0.360 and then when I crossed the multi meter probes over I got no reading. Not 100% sure that I am doing it correctly but watched a couple of youtube videos and copied them.
  10. Hi All, Here is an update: Ordered, charged and installed a new battery this morning before work. Bike fired up and it was great BUT I decided to check if it was charging, stuck a multi meter across the terminals as the bike was running at 3000 revs and there was no charge, it was steady at 11.99v, surely that does not sound right, should it not be around 13v???
  11. Thank you all for your suggestions. I shall try and look at them asap. Where would I find the starter relay?
  12. Clicking is definitely from relay, I can feel it too when I hold it. Tried jumping using car battery but again, nothing. Was working great, waiting at junction and bike dies and not worked since. I checked the connections that I made when i removed the alarm and they all look fine.
  13. Hi and thanks for the reply. When I hit the starter button the instrument lights either go dim or off. Engine does not even bother itself to turn over. Think the clicking noise is from the petrol pump relay. I have ordered another battery but will not be here until next week unfortunately. Don't know anyone local that has a bike.
  14. you dont live in Yorkshire Ok, so the lovely men look and smile at you, the kids throw stones and the women scratch Their a***s while it pees it down with rain while you peddle down the road on your push bike
  15. makes an even better bike ride. Lots of lovely scenery on the way. The sun smiling down on you, the roar of the engine and all the lovely ladies smiling and looking at you, the children waving and men looking on enviously hahahaha
  16. No one willing to help a poor stranded fellow biker, especially with all this lovey warm weather we are getting?
  17. Hi all, Had a look but this is beyond my experience. Anyone fancy a nice ride to Northants to sort this it for me. Willing to pay the nice kind person a fee of course. ☺
  18. How can I test the relay, any ideas?
  19. Tried jump starting with a car but that did not work. I have put a wanted ad up for that relay as I think that could be issue. Is there another relay in the bike that I could Use to test it with. If anyone had one lying about I would love to borrow it or even buy it.
  20. Hi all Have attached some screen shots if iI can upload if not, here is what I found. Fully charged battery: 12.24v Connected to bike but ignition off : 12.22v Connected to bike ignition on: multi metre starts jumping around like crazy. Panel lights not on our flickering on and off. Relay G8MS-S23 clicking away.
  21. Fully charged the battey, checked the main fuse too. There seems to be a lot of clicking sounds coming from the relay next to the rectifie.
  22. http://s1185.photobucket.com/user/skyli ... 1.mp4.html Hi all, Hoping you can help get my bike back on the road. Some background first. Had an alarm on bike that I removed and soldered wires back together, that was 2 months ago. Bike running lovely since then apart from yesterday. On my way home, stopped at the junction, bike totally cut out, no electrics, thought it might be a loose connection, checked and nothing. Read some stuff online and most suggestions say rectifier. Took tail off and checked rectifier but all cables look fine, no burnt ones. Removed rectifier and still same problem. Have made a video, please have a look and let me know what you think. Thanks in advance Mal
  23. Have the above installed in a GSXR 600 Srad. I stupidly forgot to put alarm in service mode before removing the battery. I now cannot start the bike as the alarm is armed and fob will not allow me disarm. I have followed the "despiking" procedure as suggested on Datatool's website but still nothing. Can anyone suggest a bypass or anything at all. What would it roughly cost to have someone come round and bypass this damn thing for me? Cheers in advance.
  24. Hi all, Does anyone know if a sump from a gsxr 750 srad 2000 will fit a 1998 suzuki GSX-R 600 srad ?
  25. Personally I would check the spark plugs.
