Rucksack advice for 17" laptop please

Just bought a new laptop, decided to go for bigger screen and the damn thing doesn't fit in my bag. Need to replace the bag and decided I may as well get a rucksack so I can bring it to work when needed without having to resort to using the car.

Any suggestions on a big enough rucksack without breaking my very fragile bank account please?

make sure the bag is waterproof. you never know. floods in gloucestershire where i live 2 years ago... sunny day bang rain 18 hours to get home from pembrokeshire with the school

I use a Kriega R35 - it came with a waterproof liner which fits a 17" Laptop nicely - bit pricey but very good.

Knox 6 pack arrived today at work. Looking forward to taking it home and filling it with my shiny new laptop and all the other junk that goes with it. Hope it don't leak!!!

I have the same bag, have done for a few weeks now. I carry a 15" laptop in it all the time, and while I have it inside another plastic carry case, in the free case, in the bag, it has never come close to getting wet.

I was warned when I bought it that it's not waterproof but I carry all kinds of computer stuff in there, a GPS, spare clothes, gloves... all sorts and it's always dry as a bone, even after a long and drenching ride.

A great little bag for the cash as far as I'm concerned, and it fits more than you'd think too!
