Guest Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Yaaaaaa!!! Super-pleased with myself. I tried on AGV K3. It's the only one between 140-200quid I an find to try on. Fits well, I think. Comfy. Any opinion if the different shell on the K4 is worth the extra?http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... nt_cat/565Or does anyone have any different ideas entirely?Any advice appreciated Quote

rennie Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 well done on passing I don't know about the helmet, if it fits buy it! Quote
JoshRS Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Yep, if it fits well then buy it,but yes, the K3 is a very good lid. But i have a preference towards AGV's, i've got the ti-tech and the stealth. But tbh they're not as comfy as an AraiCongrats on passing btw Quote
asharin Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I like AGV helmets the best, they seem to fit me more snugly that other brands. Quote
techno Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 A k3 for that price am sure I mines a k3 and I paid £80 for mine Quote
Netmeister Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I've got a K4 which is similar to a K3 and I can't wait to get ride of it.It's not a bad lid but it just doesn't fit me. I rushed out to get one, going for the small as the medium wiggled around too much, but after 30 minutes with it on I get terrible aches across my forehead where there's not much padding and it's a bit too small. I need a size in between small and medium. The only problem I find with the helmet itself is there's no space for your ears where as other brands I've tried (shoei, shark, arai, x-lite) have recessions for your ears. So with the AGV my ears always felt squashed.I'd suggest going and trying some on and if you find any tight spots you will probably find after a while with it on it will really ache. Quote
Colin the Bear Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 All makes fit differently. Different models within a brand can have a different fit. So , if it fits and it's within your budget and you like it.............ask for a discount or some free gloves or something. Quote
lib Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I would definitely try on the helmet first. Some things you can buy on-line without trying them, but I would say that a helmet is not one of those things. Quote
houltmac Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Congrats on passing!I personally went for an Arai. It's a bit more expensive but super comfy and fits like a glove. After wearing it for hours and hours at a time I don't feel uncomfortable, hot or any pressure points. Great lids. I found the Shoei very similar but couldn't find any other brands locally that felt good at all. I fancy trying AGV but I am really impressed with the Arai so far. Quote
Guest Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I've found the HJC helmets to be a great buy around that kind of money, linings and weight like a £300 Arai. Avoid Cabergs, I had a V2 for a year and will never touch another, mists up, vents do nothing, visor leaks water down the inside, lining looses all it's plushness and packs down flat. Sometimes I put it on for round town shopping trips for the convenience of the seatbelt buckle and for leaving it locked to the bike, and putting it back on reminds me of my first adult helmet, an Achilles Stadium I had in the late 1980's! Guest Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Cheers for the replies, people. I did try it on, and I did think it fitted (six weeks ago). The choice in that price range was that or nothing though. Maybe my opinion was swayed by that. After some comments, I think I'll have another try just to make sure. Aria's seem a bit expensive though. Anyone got a link to somewhere selling last season's stock? I'm just after a plain black medium.I'm hoping to look at a bike this weekend at bat motorcycles in Biggin Hill, so I'll see if they have some differnt helmets to try on there. Thanks for the advice. Netmeister Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Might be worth having a look hereGot some good deals. Quote
lib Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I quite like my caberg. It has a sliding shaded visor built in, so you don't have to carry a second/alwasy have it with you. Quote

I have the same lid and it fits me fine, everyone is different so go and try some one! Quote
