Clean the affected area with Cillit bang. It contains Phosphoric acid. This reacts with the iron oxide making it inert and black. Coca cola has the same ingredient but not as concentrated. After treatment, the reddish-brown iron oxide will be converted to a black iron phosphate compound coating that may be scrubbed off.
