JoshTimmins Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 My pinlock insert on the visor of my helmet (obv, where else it gnna go! Doh! lol) Has started to steam up in the middle at low speeds, etc. basically not working.Any treatment kit or something for this, or do i need to replace?ThanksJosh Quote
Hoody Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 The pins are adjustable. Remove the pinlock, clean the visor and dry. Use a duster and lightly wipe over the Pinlock.Re assemble and adjust the pins to form airtight seal. Quote
Guest akey Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Pinlocks are also made of a moisture absorbing material, so when you take your lid off make sure the visor is open and left in a place that is room temp (i.e. not in the garage or a shed). Quote
MtotheJ Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Also, if you ride at high speeds with the visor open then it can force moisture between the visor and insert and therefore cause it to mist up. Like others have said, take out the insert, give it a clean and dry, then see how you get on. Quote
Stephen Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 This happens to me sometimes,it seems that my pinlock moves slightly down when i handle my lid, breaking the seal. So if it starts to steam up, i just open my visor and push it back into position and it seems to work Quote
houltmac Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I just love my pinlock. I don't know how people survive without them! Quote
