1991* Honda CG (got pics :D)

having a look at my sisters boyfriends old honda CG125 1993 i think i will get that confirmed. i will be using it for long stints from glocuester to aberiswithe in wales every other week also to and from work

It needs a new back tire and a new pair of forks. im also gnna get it serviced before officially buying it. what you guys think?

Long stints on a 125! I would rather eat my own head

Its a Honda so should be fine and teh cg are pretty bomb proof.

Give it a fluid change, check the brakes and make sure its warmed up nicely before giving the beans - remember it is probably as old as you so will require a delicate touch

CG engines go forever will general maintenence, look after it and it'll look after you, is it disc or drum brake? if drum, you'll need to plan a bit further ahead drum brakes aren't as responsive as discs.. whats up with the forks? just rusted, if so have a good look round the bike, its doubtful thats all that has taken to corroding... check the spokes on the wheels to, they should all be tight any difference in sound, will mean a loose spoke..

This was the older CG with drum brakes on an R plate.

hehe thanks for all the comments. theres abit of rust on the swing arm. any tips? i think i might be able to sand out the rust on the swing arm though. its not thick. it looks like a small bit of moisture on the bar. so it shouldnt be too bad

I will find out what reg it is tommorow and post here as soon as i find out that way im sure walney frankie will know how much a new pair of forks will be he seems to know alot.

cruz this is a 1991 honda CG 100% stock down to the foot pegs. its double drum brake (nervs abit here) a very very small amount of rust on the exhaust. uploading some pics now

I have a CG (2002) its my first bike and i am absolutely in love with it. I bought it from a neighbor who had left it sitting in his shed for 2 years it sounded a bit funny when it was first run but i decided to take the chance and get it. I cleaned her up, gave her some petrol and charged the battery after which it sounded perfect . So far i've not had a single problem with the bike while learning to ride it on private land (i have my CBT on 16th January) i've now changed the oil and cleaned the filter and it sounds even smoother. I personally love the bike its the perfect height for me and from what i've heard they are very reliable bikes

here the pics i got of the bike hasnt been started in about 3 months and started first time. all electrics working. every part is stock from 1991 gnna polish it up. possibly paint the engine or clean it atleast. put on a new chain. and have fun

had a look at the forks today. was just my sisters boyfriend being a douche. they arent bent. there just not totally inline with the bars which is easily fixed. its in perfect condition check my pics

buy it, look after it and sell it on when you move up, don't spray it, its original colours,

spray work will make people think its been dropped, and never looks good unless you do it properly, or get a pro..

dont turn it into something its not, it will look like a polished turd,

these were all the rage with bike schools, so they commute and are easy to ride and learn on..

well it does around 70 MPH (im not jokingO.O) ive rode this bike before on private property and it goes fast. once it passes 55 it takes a while but it goes fast as hell without ragging it. i must say that i still love the front light on it i love round lights.

im thinking on leaving it totally stock. i just cant decide. i need to rebolt one of the front indicators as its loose. should i not even change the drums to discs? i know it would cost alot but it would be something i would look into. its totally stock and after abit of research some polishing could make this worth a pretty penny one day O.O

I think it all depends on how much the bike is.. If its only a couple a' hundred quid just leave it as it is and ride it until you get a new one, then sell it cheap or as spares. If you're gonna do any work on it make sure you have enough funds available for any hidden secrets!

well the bike itself is costing me 100quid. its taxed MOT'd and was serviced a few weeks back. the puncture whilst putting it away and he screwed up the wall of the tyre whilst replacing the tube so it needs a new tyre fortunatly local bike shop owner is a good friend so hes gnna do it for about 50 quid

dont take the mick. i dont mean speak posh, i mean speak properly like spell stuff properly and dont sware. im getting it from malmsbury about 15-20 miles from myne. boring ride. and bloody cold. but not too bad. wont be riding this home though. it needs a new back tyre first. and i need to insure it. premium wont go up on this i dont think
