Possible clutch related issues

Guys

I have posted this on another forum as well but every little helps so here goes:

My '95 ZZ R-600 is sometimes difficult to get into 3rd gear, mainly from cold.

When I start the bike from cold on the centre stand, the rear wheel spins as though a gear is engaged even when its in neutral.

Now Im assuming both problems are clutch related.

Would this point to a clutch problem?

I think the chain adjustment could also cause the difficult gear change but the spinning wheel has me confused.

Cheers

do as before, but apply the rear brake, hard if the bike stalls its clutch related, if its holds the wheel, release the brake and try again... could be tight chain related..

also is it spinning at normal speed or slower... and does it return to speed when brake is released..

my bandit rear wheel used to turn when the engine was running, but with no real power, so i could hold it still with the brake, just an inertia thing... (on main stand.....)

rear wheel spinning shouldn't be a problem as walney frankie says, if there's no power in it. Mine do it and you can stop it with a finger and spin it the other way. It soon stops and starts spinning the original way again.

Chain adjustment and clutch problems can cause difficulty selecting gears although I wouldn't have thought it would be specific to third gear unless there was already a problem with that gear. No expert though may be talking out my backside.
