chris128 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Well I'm all excited as I've got my 4th track day tomorrow, which is at Cadwell Park (as usual ). Doing this one on my road bike again as the track bike I've bought isn't arriving until Saturday so I'm hoping I don't bin it! Forecast looks good though, sun all day apparently... I just hope it is right for once, haven't done a completely dry track day yet! Anyway, the spare battery and memory card for my camera arrived today so should be able to film all of the sessions and I'll upload a few of the interesting bits to youtube tomorrow night and post them in this thread Quote
TC Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Enjoy it Chris. take loads of pictures so us hard working people can see what its like to have a life Quote
rennie Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 enjoy yourself! keep the rubber bits on the track and the rest of you off it! Quote
Guest philgale Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 enjoy it mate, i know you will be signing on about now so by the time you read this hope you had a good day.and see you next week Quote
Netmeister Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Hope you have/had a great day buddy. Look forward to the write up and pics/vids.Shame you couldn't use tricked up R6, thats gonna feel like a rocket ship on rails compared to your CBR Quote
chris128 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Thanks guys, it was a really good day Couldnt ask for better weather, bright sunshine for pretty much the entire day! There were more people on this one than any that I've done previously (about 20 of us in the same group) and I've improved a bit since last time as well (knocked 9 seconds off my best lap time ) so I got to do quite a lot of overtaking. There were a couple of people that got away from me but one guy that did ended up crashing about 30 seconds after he overtook me, I cam round a corner and saw him rolling down a hill and bits of fairing flying all over the place Here's a video from the last session of the day, where there was only me and 3 other people on the track as everyone else had gone home! I guess you probably cant tell from the video how much more confident I felt and cant really see how much faster I was going but it felt like I was doing so much better than all of my previous track days. I even managed to overtake a couple of people going into Mansfield corner which was one of my worst corners before "> I've made another video of the highlights of the day for me but that is going to take a while to upload to youtube so I'll edit this post and embed it here once its done Quote
Revvin Kevin Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Great weather and good video but you need to work on hitting them apexes Quote
cleedubber Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 That looks like a quality video mateI'll be using my new cam for the first time on the 30thGlad you're feeling more confident, thats what its all aboutHope to see you on thr track sometime soon Quote
chris128 Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Here's some other bits from the day (it does get more interesting after the first 2 minutes!)"> Edited March 5, 2010 by chris128 Quote
Guest philgale Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 good time in the first vid mate, not watched all of the second one. i was nearly shouting at the screen at 1.10 tho, just go round him puttin in 2.20 ish on your road bike should be in inters, you were getting held up a bit in the second vid so the faster guys will drag you along a fair bit and you will knock so much time off, especially when you get the r6 out, more power, better brakes and most of all you shouldn't mind binning it i really cant wait to get back out, just waiting on a new spindle coming for my bike then i think ill have dry wheels only fingers crossed for sunny weather then Quote

I think my best time yesterday was 2 mims 6 seconds, so hopefully thats gd enough for inters ps the second half of that video is a bit better, lots more overtaking Quote
Netmeister Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Definitely going Cadwell this year, that track looks fun!Nice going Chris, looks like you're getting into the swing of things now! I like the bit where you show the other cbr600f how it's done And what was with the dude sticking his leg out mid turn Quote
chris128 Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 And what was with the dude sticking his leg out mid turn haha I think he was indicating that I could go past him (he was one of the instructors) Quote
Guest philgale Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 2.6 is more than enough for inters mate, there are always people book in inters coz they dont want to be "novice" anymore so you will do well mate in that group.plus there will be quicker riders so you will get dragged along a little bit....(by me on day two ) Quote
