Has anybody had both of these lids? it might be a long shot as the XR1100 has not long been out but i am doing my nut in searching for a lid... with fitting, colour and price.

I was able to try a XR1100 on today and it fitted perfect and was comfy... however witht he XR1000 dying there is nowere to try one. Anyone know if they are similar if not identical in fitting.

sure i read that the new one has complete removable pads were the XR100 is only removable check pads aswell.

thanks

Can't compare fit, I'm afraid - but I have the XR1000 and can confirm that only the cheek pads are removable. I'll just have to make a mental note not to sweat too much in summer.

Have an XR1000 which is a great fit for me. Tried on the XR1100 and it fitted fantastically as well. My current lid is due for renewal at the end of this year and I will be getting the XR1100.

Not sure about the removable pads though.

Thanks for the information.

it's a rather large gamble to take with a lid but for the price i might have to...

I have the XR100 and can vouch for its quality. Where abouts are you. You still see plenty advertised for sale so there should be somewhere you can try one. Are you anywhere near Blackburn, I was in the Rocket Centre on Thursday and they had some in.

I have the 1100 and I love it. I had an Arai before but had tried the 1000 a few times. The 1000 felt... raw. It didn't feel plush like the Arai and the 1100 is a nice middle ground. It's very similar in shape, though squeezes a little less on both the forehead and the crown. Very comfy for me.

It moves a ton of air which is nice, and the visor is properly windproof and has a HUGE pinlock. Very nice. The air movement makes it a little noisy at speed, so wear plugs. Off the motorway it's fine for me.

I would buy this lid again every time. Wonderful.

PS. I wear a medium Arai and Shoei. The Shoei is a little tighter, but feels better after 10 minutes. Snug, but comfy snug where the Arai is slightly less snug or a small which just won't fit over my head ;)

Thanks for all that houltmac.

i fink i have found a XR1000 thats ok for £250 however i just can not make up my mind on the design one second i think it looks pretty sweet, next it is too busy for a design; does it look 'Naff' ha?

Or splash out £50 more for a boring plain black XR1100 @ £300??

Decisions, Decisions!

thanks again.

Was that me? lol.

I got the red one at the NEC last year and love it. Very comfortable compared to my old AGV K4, and pinlock is a god send.

I was talking to the guy on the stand about the 1000 vs 1100. He said the only differences were really to do with aerodynamics and couple of features like removable pads etc. The inner shell shape is the same (and believe it of not is the same across multiple brands) so I would be very suprised if you didn't get on with the 1000 after trying the 1100.
