Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Hi guys. Well, heres my plan;To mount the indicators on my bike, flush into the front fairing, instead of on the side on stems. One indicator mount is broke (like that when i bought it) and is being held on/in place with gaffa tape! It'd be cheaper and look better than buying a replacement Heres a pic i knocked up on MS paint real quick to show the idea;http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n305/CobbZ_2006/Indicator1.jpgFirstly, is this legal? Are there laws governing where an indicator needs to be?Also, in this position, will it be harder for people to see maybe? It wont be flat in the fairing, the orange piece will be mounted ON the fairing What do you guys think?Cheers, CobbZ Quote
TC Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Not sure on the Laws for them Cobz. But i think those should be fine. You can get Flush mounted ones that can hardly be seen, and they are legal Quote

cyberwolf Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 you can get Flush mounted ones that go where the old one go but they not cheap! Quote
Petarded Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Tbh mate just get a new OE one from ebay or something. I replaced my original stem indicators on my gpx 250 and oncoming vehicles can't even see them from the front. I had no choice though as I couldn't mount a new OE one because the fairing around where the indicator stem would go is broken off (from 1st crash). If you have the indicators mounted on the front you run the risk not being seen from the side (the most important bit). And I think your bike will look even more ratty if you put the indicators where you're considering.New set of indicator stems.Or all the other GPZ 500 indicator related products. Quote
Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Guess thats true... Have also been thinking, if i ended up not liking them, or they turned out to be unsafe, i'd have some holes in my front fairing...I guess i'm better off leaving it then Quote
bex Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/562040/Bodywork/Indicators/Bike-Itif you want flush ones something like this that can be seen from front and side would be ok, they are brighter than normal bulb ones to Quote
