Boro Jake Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Im currently 20 and looking to pass my test when im 21. I currently hold a CBT license and i have completed the driving theoery (For a car mind) ive heard of mod1,2,3 and DAS but i have no idea what they are! which test would be best for me? Quote
Guest Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 lol, no such thing as mod 3 Well, you can either do your test now, and be on a restricted license for 2 years - cheaper (only £30 for bike theory, £15 for mod1 and £75 for mod2 - £120 total)ORYou can wait till 21 and do DAS, meaning you wouldn't be restricted at all. But this will cost you around £400-£600, and you'd have to wait a year (but with DAS you will be trained, and some courses offer that if u fail a test, they give u free training until u do pass ) Quote

So Basically its a straight 400-600 paid, and u keep going until you pass? also how many lessons do you need Quote
Guest Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Well the DAS goes like this; You get your provisionalYou get your CBT doneYou do your bike theoryTHENYou start a DAS course with a bike school. You pay the £400 or whatever, they provide the bike, (usually) protective clothing, helmet e.t.c... and give u a few lessons, teach you what to do, then they pay for your mod1 and you do it, then a few more lessons, then they pay for yr mod2 It can all be done in like a 3 day course... Do some googling, find the schools closest to you, ring 'em up and have a quick chat about it They'll be able to talk you through it better than we can. Just get practicing for your theory now Remember, your CBT and theory run out two years after the date you took 'em, i'm also led to believe, if your CBT runs out, your theory does too... Quote
Boro Jake Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 sounds good, i have a provisional license, CBT and i've done the driving thoery for a car.. (is it the same for a bike?) Quote
Guest Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Nope, its separate theory tests for bike and car... Although its almost exactly the same. Quote
