Guest Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 HI ive just got a new project bike its a 1985 dt125lc..the condition of the bike looks pretty good and looks to be all there but when i put a batterie on there all that happened was the temp gauge moved no lights /horn / etc etc where do i start im at a complete loss with electrical wires all ive been able to do is chech the inline fuse of the battery and that seems fine how much iis a new rewire anybody no or no anyone in the torbay area who could lend a hand cheers Quote
Guest Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sounds like it is grounding out, or has a serious short. Best way to learn is get in there and do it!!!Invest in a multimeter. Invest in a haynes or find a downloadable manual. Start tracing wires, especially where they run against chassis, they might have rubbed the wire casing off exposing the core and shorting out.And obviously check all fuses. Cos if one of them keeps blowing this will help you narrow it down..... Quote
