Hoody Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Get two piece zip together - far more practical - especially in Summer, and you can mix/match with textiles at a later date if you want to (think Future-Proofing!) Nothing worse in high summer than being stuck in a full baby-grow at a meet or race etc. With a 2 pce you can unzip and take jacket off. Quote
fazerboy Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 decide what sort of riding you want to do,blast around/more sedate, any half decent suit is also triple stitched too,get a 2 piece for a first suit i would pay no more than £400 that you stated.cow hide is probably only material available to you at that price, but if you see a kangaroo skin one in that price what fits, snap their hands off Quote
bex Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 as been said, go for two piece, and can i ask, if your intending on replacing in the new year why pay £400 now? why not find a sale or bargain £200 kinda suit and then upgrade later, means you will always have a spare set of kit that can be used when and where ever and you get more money to spend on the upgrade, why not look at second hand stuff or lesser make suit. i paid £120 for my leathers and they are now 5ish years old and still good. I am currently looking at 1 and 2 piece second hand suits...i figured if i could keep the cost down, but only have a max of £400 if i decide to push the boat out.How unrecommended is it to use scuffed leathers... basically after 1 fall ? i see alot of people down at meets/pub with marks and scuffs, although i wouldnt buy them just to look the part (ie worn knee sliders), i fink ya look better spotless ! cheers Quote

BoB3rt Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 aye, looking at a gud £900 set that a dude highsided on and scuffed the sholder and elbow.... so :SOther than that how do Spyke rank in the world of leathers they seem to have somne decent sets for about 3-400.cheers again! Quote
nman1 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Try looking at RTS, or Richa, reasonable make and very good value. As for one piece or two I`d say it`s up to you. My one piece has more vented leather so very cool when riding. It is hot when stood still or walking about at meets but then you spend more time on the bike than sitting about...hopefully. Quote
spafe2302 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I'm gonna add another vote for 2 piece, as if you want to look spotless etc then if you fall and scuff a elbow or a knee but the otehr part remains ok then its easier to just buy half suit again rather than full set. also measn you could get black trousers, then a nice green and black jacket (go go power rangers!! ) then when you upgrade jsut rab a newer jacket in the colours of your new bike, same trousers (black goes with all).Let us know what you settle with Quote
Jimmi_929RR Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I've got an RST Fusion 1-piece which i paid £290 for (last year's 'model' so reduced) a couple of months ago. It's got the armour & back protector in etc. They aren't as practical as 2-piece admittedly but having had both types, i would say (strangely) the 1-piece seems to fit better. You can also take the top part off and have it folded down the back (like a mechanic's overalls if you will) for sitting about in. Quote
Scorpion Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Ixon Galactica is 230 on ebay posted atm, they are a very good suit, but a one piece Quote
