waynebev Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Just a quick question..... somebody suggested putting redex in my bike. May sound stupid but just wondered what everyone thought about it? Is it any good? Quote
TC Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I've heard it could gum up parts of your engine (Could be Bo110cks)I wouldn't use it personally But thats only from stuff i've heard. Someone thats used it on here might say different. Quote
Fozzie Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Its good but not as good as STP. STP really clears your bikes system, and it doesn't have any ill effects. Also boosts power more noticeably than redex. http://www.stp.eu/uk/images/product_completefuelsystemcleaner.jpgAnd the link to Halfords...http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165750Enjoy Quote
spunky1976 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 i use it every few months not caused me any problems, when i first got my bike it wasn't running great popped the recommended amount in next full tank and took it for a good run during which the bike started spluttering a lot i thought oh crap then one big cough and all was good its been fine ever since Quote

Voodoo Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 the was a test done with this stuff and the was not a boost in power infact the was a loss in power If they were any good, then multi billion pound oil companies would add it to their fuel, to make it better than their competitors Quote
Guest Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 The only additives i use are, Silkolene PRO FST; added if I have to store a bike for any length of time, and Motrax fuel line cleaner; added when I take the bike out of storage,No additive will give you extra performance or MPG, the only reason I use the two above is I am a lazy git and cannot be bothered to drain the float bowls and change the fuel in the petrol tank when storing a bike. Fozzie Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 the was a test done with this stuff and the was not a boost in power infact the was a loss in power When done with standard fuel it has a good effect, the test was done with the high octane stuff and they chucked it in or at least the one I read about did. The bike I used it with gained power as it had done over 5000 miles on student budget fuel (cheapest you can get) and I put in double the required dosage and it cleared out my engine and it gave me power back Quote
