Hey guys, i have a ratteling sound coming fromwhere my kickstart is. I have taken the cover off (eventually) and all looks fine, nothing is loose and nothing has worn away.

I am planning to go on a 40 mile all round trip and dont want it dying on me 20 miles from home... any ideas what it could be, or what i could do to find out?

it could be the kick start quadrant the bit the kick start connects to with the teeth on it or it could be the speed variator and the rollers that the belt runs on

kick start quadrant (thanks for explaining wht it is lol) is fine, thats not loose either.

I think i will have to take the cover off when its running to see if the noise gets louder, as none of it seems loose. however battery is dead, so i need kickstart to start it, and have tried taking it off whilst running before. lets just say it didnt work.

take the casing off and see if there is any sign of damage to the belt and check where belt runs for free play as there are rubber rollers in there that wear and it could be that but could be almost anything down in that area get it running put it on the centre stand and have a listen around
