Hi all,

I am looking to do my CBT and DAS soon and as such looking to get all the gear.

My question is....will i be laughed at (as in all that gear is too much and not needed) if i wear full leathers boots etc as apposed to just wearing jacket helmet and gloves with jeans and sturdy shoes?

Sorry if it is a stupid question!

No you wont, and if your instructor did laugh, then he'd be the nugget !

If you fall off and you've got yer leathers on youll be alot better off than if your wearing jeans etc.

Yeah anyone who laughs at a biker with full and decent gear is truly an idiot. If they do laugh, grab the name and the instructor and we'll spread the word.

Plus, if you come off. You'll really appreciate it. My mate spared no expense gearing up (nearly 2k)... I went with him on his first ride, he came off at 20-30 mph on a roundabout with me behind..

His arm and bike were cut up. Could have been much worse

If anything i'd say having full leathers will make you feel much safer the first time on a bike, I only wore jeans and felt exposed. Who cares what others think yanno? :)
