BoB3rt Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 yo,I have a set of 'all season' gloves, although thats a load of poo coz when it gets warm its not like they have removable linning.Anyways they are starting to smell is it ok to bung them in a washer or have them soak or will it ruin the leather ? i realise they could take some time to dry out!cheers Quote
Guest Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 I've heard that you can stick them in the freezer for a day or so (then let em dry out naturally).......supposed to kill the smelly little critters (bacteria).Having said that I know someone who had smelly gloves and tried it - he said it didn't work....others have said it does work, so it's gotta be worth a shot ??If the inside of yer gloves is materiel, try a spray of fabreeze........ works wonders Quote
Guest Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 put them in a ziplock bag, and chuck them in a freezer for a week, (i mean do you want your frozen pizza smelling of gloves...)or wash with baby shampoo, and leave to dry, not on the radiator, its too warm, on the line should be ok.that said, i washed mine with a mild "dettol" solution.. just smelled like a hospital for a while... BoB3rt Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 I put them in warm-ish water using only soap on the inside. I then put them on the line to dry out and gave the inside a good coating of fabreeze as they were still a bit damp. seems ok now but they seem like there gonna get funky again soon! need proper summer gloves!! Guest Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 You must wash your glovesafter EVERY day you ride .If you do take care of your gloves properly, they will fall apart because of the soft palm, the less grip is not as good.I am riding the bike since last five year . So I suggest every one to take care of their gloves . Quote
Guest Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 bicarb of soda, old wives tale, but worked for a milk spill in my car, and if it works on that it'll work on your musty mitts Quote

Roadtorque Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 My gloves 2 years old & still fineButYou want to sniff my boots Quote
Mightycaz Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Mine are about 18 months old and have never been washed (exept when it pees down). The only issue I have with them is they go really stiff after being wet, will a bit of oil soften them up a bit? Maybe furniture polish? Quote
