mealexme Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 i apologise for what i am about to ask, but nowhere does it tell me an answer on the we (well not that i can find)Kevlar jeans compared to normal jeans. Do you get hotter in kevlar? because i have seen some that are waterproof and breathable, but does breathable mean that it lets the breeze in a bit? and if it does, how can it still be waterproof?CheersAlex Quote

Guest philgale Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 my kevlar jeans are a bit hotter when stood around but on bike there sweet... Quote
Guest Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 There a little hot, but compared to textiles and leathers there cool! Especially when on the bike! Quote
mealexme Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Are they any good for wearing all day? or will they be too hot? Like if i was to ride into town then walk round all day, would i e melting by the end? Quote

My only issue with them is they don't seem to come in particularly trendy styles. Quote
archiec Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I like mine and look good on a cruiser, just get a pair of good braces too to keep them on in the event of an off (a guy sells them on eday ) Quote
Mightycaz Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 there great for walking around town in as the knee pads are just velcrod in, just slip em out and put em in your bag. Still not as good as regular jeans but better than leathers!! Quote

Ezituper Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Sorry to say i can't believe i read this threadSlide down the road once in normal jeans or have slightly hotter legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Ingah Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Sorry to say i can't believe i read this threadSlide down the road once in normal jeans or have slightly hotter legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hence i wear ATGATT - although have previously slid down the road (in earlier less enlightened times) in normal jeans a couple of times and been OK, and so have others. Equally, i've seen some nasty pictures of blood raw "chicken legs" that were the unfortunate result of someone else going down the road in jeans - life being the lottery that it is.Just answering the question Quote
Mightycaz Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 when i say not as good as normal jeans i mean just the way they look. I find mine just as comfortable as normal ones.no comparison as far as protection goes, which is the best thing about em. For some season changing into a pair of jeans rather than leathers seems like less of a choir ie that makes sense...... Quote
mealexme Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 Sorry to say i can't believe i read this threadSlide down the road once in normal jeans or have slightly hotter legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I only asked because i was thinking i would rather get kevlar, but if you get hot in them then there is no point in them so i would get leathers instead. its not a choice between kevlar and normal jeans, its a choice between kevlar and leathers, but i want to know more aout kevlar before i buy them. i want to know stuff that isnt in the specifications on the sellers websites. Ezituper Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I find my Kevlar jeans comfier cooler and lighter both on and off the bike, but you will get hot legs on weather like this afternoon. Quote
Guest akey Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Kevlar jeans are a little hotter than standard jeans wearing all day but nowhere near as hot as leathers. On the move they are cooler than my old vented leathers.Having just done over 1000 miles in the south of france and spain in my kevlar jeans they were an absolute god send. I have also worn them all day at work and have been fine no more uncomfortable than normal jeans really just a little thicker and maybe a little warmer but not so much you would notice. Quote

Coume Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 My only issue with them is they don't seem to come in particularly trendy styles. I bought this one, the Draggin Next Gen, as they were the only one I could see myself going out on a Friday evening in an afterwork unforecasted evening http://motomail.co.nz/Users/motomail.co.nz/Images/1466_300_300.jpgThere is no visible panel and the cut is pretty decent but they are cut very small...I wear usually 28/29 jeans so went for the 30 on ebay, and there would be no way I could fit knee protector in :/ Quote
mealexme Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 To be fair i think i would wear knee protection on the outside (if such thing exists) if i was wearing them all day cuz i could take them off.infact wouldnt they come off a bit too easily in a crash if fitted to the outside? Quote
