security chain/padlock

Recommended Posts

would just like to mention a web site i came across recently that i think is very good.

a google search for 'torc-anchors' will take you to it.

i'm just about to purchase a second chain/padlock and have found a very good deal here, so thought i would share for anyone else who hasn't come across them before.

cheers

edit: whilst searching for a new chain and padlock, i came across an interesting tip, and that was to buy a small padlock and lock it to the (drive) chain of your bike... anyone tries to ride of with it will be in for a surprise! Anyone else do this? I think its a good idea, but worry i'd forget it was on there one day. :?

May be best to pop it near the sprocket on the lower (?) run of the chain so that damage is minimised (be careful with those fingers tho...). Maybe one of those £10 alarmed padlocks, so when you take it off the stand, it'll beep to warn you? (same reason i prefer alarmed disc locks)

Might've been a useful tip for my CG125 (dual drums so can't use a disc lock), but its got a bloody full chain enclosure too - definitely not an easy bike to secure unless you want the faff of chaining it through the frame (pretty much the only physical security option for it!)

I wanted to buy a chain from them, one of those 16mm Protector but when I made an order they had none in stock so I went with Almax instead. :thumb:

Yep, i'm looking at the 16mm protector chain with the untouchable lock (2 metre length chain) for £109 :)

Thats the one but I wanted 2.5m to lock 2 bikes but after I made an order they contacted me to tell me there were none in stock :( So I got Almax instead. Great piece of kit :thumb:

Almax does look very good, always hear good things about those chains.

A far better price than the Almax 2m solution (£175 - excluding delivery!) - they must've made it cheaper because last i checked the prices were very comparable.

If i remember correctly this chain also guarantees to be hand bolt cropper proof?

Yes they guarantee this!

And the lock is highly rated also. I'm very impressed with it.

How did you get it for that price? The cheapest I can find is £170 with the anchor
