Just inform them of colour change with your V5C (log book), it should be obvious with what you need to do if you look at it :)

I don't want to steal the thread, but I have one question. If you change the colour and notify DVLA, receive amended V5 blah blah blah, do you have to tell insurer that your bike is "modified"?

Mods refer to performance inhancments and handling ect not asthetics but if you told your insurance company it was black then maby should tell them its now yellow :)

Painting would depend what on what you are painting as to how you prepare it Ie a good acrylic primer on plastics and metal but self etch primer on alloys ect.

You would still benifit from using the good old Red Oxide primer on bare metals IMO but respray for tanks ect if it is in good order then Just key it with 120 grit and a coat of high build acrylic then Flat top coat followed by high gloss clear coat.

For the Frame I would use an enamel paint rather than acrylic.

There are lots of good guides on UTUBE if your not sure

has anybody tried to use airbrush to paint anything?

i had a can of grey primer (don't know what primer is it) and it just blocked my airbrush... i think the paint was too thick..

i was thinking about painting my from black to some unusual green orange colour so it's stands out...
