Being smarter than he average bear, you will already know that Leathers are best. I know nothing, but the adds say Draggin jeans are the best to go for and I saw something in MCN about a french company claiming its Kevlar jeans were "as good" as leather.

I got an inexpensive armoured set from Amazon of all places for about £60

They are alot better that the textiles i had for this weather, it stops the betty swallocks syndrome!!

:stupid: hood have the most abrasive material (para aramid, not kevlar but spose to be better) looked at loads before settling for hood and others didnt have that much kevlar in them.

and no not as good as leather but a hell of a lot more comfortable that leathers in hot weather.

I have the draggin K legs.

Basically there under trousers that are full kevlar with double protection on the arse and side of the legs. you then wear what you want over the top!

So far so good!

Hi There

Had the Draggin Jeans "Next Gen" for a few months now and i have to say they're great...

These are the pair with no visible patches from the outside and they are very comfortable and to be honest just look like a normal pair of jeans although they're pretty thick with the liner all the way down to just above the ankle...

They're cut quite long so as to still look ok in or over a boot..

i do understand leather is the material everyone says is best but to be fair i ride with the aim of not putting them to the test... and if i'm on a long trip the other gear goes on just in case i get caught in a shower...

All the power ranger suits do put me off and walking like one's slipping down me leg after a hot ride is not my idea of fun or freedom to choose so i know this wont everyones idea of protection but I love em.....

Just got a pair of Red Route Kevlar jeans. Should have been £102 but paid £66 courtesy of a friendly dealer :-)

They feel quite thick but aren't heavy. I don't plan to test their protective qualities any time soon though.

Just want to give a +1 to Hood. Value for money suggest they might be the best out there (they certainly don't (Edit:) didn't used to cost more than other pairs of kevlar jeans and they cut them to the inside leg length you specify), as they're properly kevlar'ed/para-armadid'ed (rather than just patches), and they do a pair that does genuinely look like ordinary jeans (no obvious stiching etc that i can see). No one ever notices i'm wearing them at uni or work's "dress down" days (i have the ND4 pair) etc, despite the additional hip and knee protectors (until i point it out). Only problem is that i recently got abit fat and so they're not comfortable any more... :?

And the other downside, is that if the room is hot (enough that other people are complaining), i'm getting very hot in them. If the room is at normal temperature there is no problem.

Don't know what else you could possibly ask for in kevlar jeans - apart from waterproofing, if you're one of those buggers who's never satisfied!

Just checked their site - they've gone up by quite a bit since i bought them 2 years ago! (now £120 for a pair including hip and knee armour, £100 without).

One of the reasons I went for Draggin's rather than Hood was because the Draggin's just had patches of kevlar in the appropriate areas. The principle of that is that should you crash and the jeans have to be cut off you, the paramedics can do that at the scene, cutting the denim-only areas.

If the kevlar is all-covering the jeans have to be pulled off as the kevlar can't be cut through with tools the paramedics carry.

Mind you, this was a few years ago, technology may have moved on...but the jeans haven't worn out yet to the extent that I need to replace them. :D

Got a pair of the Hood jeans as they offer far more protective lining than the other jeans, basically a full lining rather than a little bit in the most common areas. Also bought the hip and knee Armour pack to go in them for added protection.

Would recommend the Hood ones as they make them to your particular leg length
