techno Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Moved this into pitstop.I have no idea about them only ridden 2 very briefly! Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 shaft drives often feel clunky compared to chain drive bikes as the chaine would normally take up the play as you change gear but a shaft will transmit the change through the gearbox what bike is it ? Quote
rennie Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 a certain amount of clunking is normal!depends how bad it is really Quote
Roadtorque Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 I had a Guzzi Breva, gear change on that was as sweet as a nut,, Probably it all comes down to wear & tear,,,,, Quote
Guest Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 thanks to everyone who replied to my problem it seems i am goin to learn to live with it just like to add a few months ago i had a problem with changing down the gears while slowing down while riding so i adjusting the cable slack which improved it slightly. is this a sign of clutch wear?many thanks Quote
Stu Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 the down shifting could be down to clutch wear not sure on the clunking im sure one of my work mates has the virago i will ask him and see if he's is the same oh and welcome from another hull member see you at seaways sometime? Quote
