Mod 1 tomorrow!

Shitting it!

Bit slow on the speed stuff and my U turn is shit!

Loved the training though, went on an A road with the CBF today hitting 70 was so weird on a bike compared to a car, the acceleration on the cbf's was so much different!

its been a while, just been working etc... so ill give an update of what happened with my tests but its slightl embarassing!

Next wee is my 4th attempt at mod 1. Its not because I can't do anything i just crack under stress.

First attempt - nocked a cone on slalomn because i was being so stiff, no other faults.

Secound attempt - U turn was slgihtly on the white line.

Third attempt - Did everything perfect (very wide figure of 8) and just wabbeled the cone on the swerve, checked mirrors (f**k)

4th attempt will be next week at some point, and will be a pass

That's a shame :( , nerves can be a bugger especially when you know you can do it . When I did mine I was nervous, but determined not to waste the money I'd spent on training! Remember to look ahead - the bike goes where you are looking so if you are fixating on the white line or cone that's probably where you'll head! Good luck for number 4 :D

failed again, same as before, left hand turn swerve, just touched the cone = game over, other than that, a minor for being wide on the figure of 8 (i just do it wide because you can kind of thing) :)

ah well!

Luckily they let me book Mod2 training, with mod1 test in the afternoon so i only have to pay for the test fee £10.50 or whatever it is, nearly there guys :P

bugger :) never mind mate, im sure you'll get there in the end.

Keep at it dont let it get you down, like you say its just nerves. Your prob so worried about hitting that cone now that thats what your thinking about and clipping it. concentrate on the stopping point at the end.

Fingers crossed for you next time.

dont know if it will help you , but i had the same problem in training, and my instructor told me to make sure i look across at the outer cone before i swerve, but dont fixate on it.

good luck on the next try

ahh yeh, ive never used the outter cone much but was told similar. Thing is in training i hit it once in all my attempts. Also first 2 exams i did it fine (think one was at 57kph too).

Im just gonna have to rinse it next time and hopefully will have no trouble with mod 2, slowly breaking into my bike budget but ill get there :) Cheers guys

And unfortunately the best advice is just to relax. Relax your arms (do the birdie song dance in your head, flapping your arms like that you have to be relaxed) and don't grip the bars with a death grip! Perversely, the bike will feel like it's fighting you less if you relax your grip a little. It'll soak up any unevenness in the road and carry on rather than your feeling every single one and trying to correct for every single one as you go along...

There were a couple doing their CBT's on the day I went for my lesson last week and she had been gripping the bars so tight all day she was developing blisters across her palms.

Yeh i havn't got blisters but started forming rough skin, Its one of those thigns whn you know what your doing wrong but you just cant put it right because your body wont let you. I think the bird song might help me relax/laugh though, good thinking :)

P.s cheers for the support guys is really nice
