i noticed after my last rideout my chain was a little slack ,so adjusted it this morning and have been out today and its slack again .So i,m guessing it needs replaceing can someone confirm this ....cheers :lol:

has it got tight spots ?


did you tighten it to the tightest part of the chain then when you looked this morning it was on the slackest part ?

that was quick ..........tried it in a few spots and would say its more slacker most of they way round then when i tightened it....if that makes sence

Yes it needs replacing!


I had a chain that needed doing every2 weeks then it broke luckily I was doing about 15mph at the time.


Got a new chain didnt need doing for 18 mths!

cheers guys do i need to change the front sprocket aswell ....anyone know were i can get these cheap if poss .......xmas is comeing

its false economy buyibg cheap

go for a branded one like Afam or DID cheap chains dont last believe me :roll:

cheers nigelf anyone know the differents between o ring and x ring chains they look nearly the same.........x ring a little more money other then that i don,t know.............

the difference is the way the oil/grease is held in each link to do with the little rubber seals.. goolge the did or other chain web sites they will have pictures to show... if you can afford go for the X they are supposed to be better.

I'll second that, cheap chains don't even last half as long as good quality ones

Are you sure the wheel did not move when you did the nut up on the spindle ? 8)

can anyone in the Hull area lend me a chain rivet press to put my new chain on ........managed to get old one off :lol:

Get a lump hammer for the back of the chain ordinary for the side facing you whack it 'til the end is peened over, job done. Mines been on for over 10,000 miles now.
