FZR Genisis idle prob when hot

My mate recently bought one, 86' in red good condition and it passed the MOT 12hrs after he bought it without so much as a drop of chain lube

So far he's changed the oil and fuel (only did 500miles in past 5yrs) and replaced the air filter, he plans on having the carbs sonically cleaned and the plugs done at the same time.

Thought I would ask in the meantime about the prob it has....

When cold it idles well np once hot it just drops off and stalls, opinions?

Also from 3rd gear and above it hesitates and around 6K rpm sometimes momentarily other times its a little extended this seems to be improving with use. Im thinking plugs and or HT leads for both probs? Its all gonna get done just wondered if anyone has any input at all?

what fzr is it as they do the 400 600 750 and 1000 cc models and has it got exup valve in exhaust

Maybe it,s running abit rich,take the plugs out,they should be a nice tan colour,

Sorry thought I said, its the NON Exup 400.

Does seem to be running rich, again not so much now its done a few miles.

check the air filter as well and if it has been standing around for a while get some fresh fuel in it that will make a difference

Needs a service. No point guessing and fixing stuff that's not boken. Service it and see how it runs
