Neil - you're forgiven!

I have to admit that me and Dad stopped shortly after the Guyhirn roundabout for a breather. My arms and legs were in agony. That's the longest trip I've done on my bike for over a year. I'm only used to going to the Marina and back...

Yes, yes, I know...

Neil - you missed out that I was also riding at the front on the way back, I felt sad my name was missed off the list. Me and Gubba and Acemastr and Ben had some good fun filtering.

...

Seawolf - hope you enjoyed your first ride out with us.

...

Hopefully see you all Tuesday at the Marina

I remember you were on the right front, AND the U-turn at the roundabout where Huntingdon was clearly signposted straight ahead and we took the first exit, 'cos somebody in the front was indicating left...lol. (I don't know who it was as I am still puzzled with the 'name vs. display name vs. bike vs. gear' matrix. ) Filtering, oh yeah, I can do that cr@p too!

I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. See you tomorrow @ the Marina.

Ooops sorry Jayne, previous reply revised. I was with you all the way to when you turned off at Gyern. Aaron and Dave shot off then along the long straights, I held back a bit as I was unsure if seawolf knew the way home and I did not want her to ride alone.

That was very kind of you. I knew we were on the right way, that's one thing at least. You were holding well back as I had to catch the guys myself at some point.

But I didnt get the invite for a coffee, is it because I overtook you once? The offer is still there, if you want swapsies  or a cornering course.

I was going to let you ride ahead of me so we was in the same order as we left Hunny, but you then waved me through so I went. My shoulders back and neck was that stiff I couldn`t have cornered ifr I`d have had 4 wheels.

Sorry I missed this. Moving alway's takes longer than you think. Unfortunetly I did not get chance to collect my bike until about 5pm on Sunday.

One of us could have given you a pillion ride over to your house, I presume it`s the one on the old A1. My back pegs are off otherwise I would have offered on sunday morning.

I'm guessing your gear was with the bike though Ash?

I've got my seat and pegs on mine, could have given you a ride....on a proper bike

you missed a good one, company more than the ride. was a bit bored each way. are there any roads with corners on in this country?!

I was thinking that, I'm dying to get a good set of linked corners to give myself a challenge, can't seem to find any around here that last longer than about 3 miles.

Cornering course! haha, she's really digging it in!

You overtook me a couple of times, and there's no way I was having that! (p.s i'm the one in white leathers on the red CBR)

Seawolf - I know exactly what you mean. I know who everyone is, but as soon as they get on their bikes I get ever so confused about who they all are!

Ash - missed you on Sunday. Hope the move went well and hopefully see you down the Marina soon.

don't know if any of you have done the market harborough to melton mowbray road it is pretty good lot's of corners and you can come back past rutland through uppingham to corby which ain't bad either.

i'd be up for a run next sunday but will be working at night so would need to be earlier than sunday's ride

Posted

Ian, why not stick some details up as a new ride and see who puts their name down. I`m OK for an earlier start.

yeah ok i'll wait till next week and see what the weather is going to be like. won't need to be too early but would like to be home before 3:00

The B6042 ;)

Try turning left out of Melton to Luffbra then :)

Shame you're all off this Sunday, I'd have come for a play but I'm going to Brakley for their rather good bike fest.

Have fun.

Gubba, you shoud defo. try the 250. It pleases other 600s when they can overtake!

Acemastr - sounds like good economy to me, not sure what you're complaining about

As for faster next time, I'm keeping an eager eye on the boards for the next ride out that you organise.

Managed to get 54mpg on our ride on Sunday, and 47mpg on the way home+work mon&tues, little bit quicker next time please?

54 mpg - good fuel consumption, so when are you taking the restriction off then?

When you've got a bike fast enough to keep up with it ;)

My entire French trip was 50mpg, so obviously going round corners quicker helps reduce that. Also, the edge of the tyres are a smaller circumference, so the engine needs to spin faster, thus increasing fuel consumption.

However, I'd be well happy with 54. the force is strong in that one.
