mealexme Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 these are scratched and could do with a touch up with a touch up pen. Anyone happen to know/know where to get the colour code for them? Thanks, Alex Quote
Fozzie Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Photograph and show us which bit you mean by outer forks. As some bikes bikes have fork covers, in which case do what you see fit to them. Though if it's just for cosmetic and has nothing to do spend a day taking them apart and respray the right bits and then put em back together Quote
Tango Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 There are companies around that will mix paint colours for bikes if you can give them the Make, Model, Year (or VIN) and the colour or approximate colour. I bought a touch-up pot for Bonniebirds T100 (Goodwood Green) at the BMF for a few quid. Quote
mealexme Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 too dark now lol. the bit connected to the wheel that the fork oil and spring and things are inside of. not the chrome looking bit that connects to near the handle bars but the bit that goes into... i really need to learn the technical name for things lol. Guest akey Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Sliders arent usually painted mate, its usually a metal coating, what colour are they and for what bike?? Quote
mealexme Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5255516/IMG147.jpgthe bottom part, connected to the wheel rather than the bit that goes in it. The bit thats scratched lol YBR is the bike Quote
Stu Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 if you can afford to have the bike off the road for about 2 weeks why not get a tin of silver paint and some laquer and strip the paint off and repaint them they will be as good as new then Quote
Tango Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I think Hammerite do a smooth silver finish paint. It'd probably be more robust than the finish that's on there...Bob Quote

Colin the Bear Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Hammerite needs a special primer for aluminium, which costs more than the paint. Autosol, electric toothbrush, and relaquer. Or try Tcut. Quote
