being doing a few more jobs to it......... :D

there was a small oil leak from the clutch cover so drained the oil to discover there was no gasket or any gasket paste ,so ive fitted a new one and changed the filter and put fresh oil in and seams ok :D

and heres the can i bought its a viper race can,it was on the large side so got someone i know to shorten it and it sounds sweet :lol: .

heres what ive spent up to now..

1.stripped both front calipers,fitted new pads,and new seal kit on one of them......£41.00.

2.fitted another tail section,good old ebay ......£42.00.

3.removed forks ,one was bent so had it straighted new fork oil,oil seals and dust seals ......£72.00.

4.replaced left side foot hanger and front master cylinder incl brake leaver......£38.00.

5.front tyre...... free.

6.replace tank as it was damaged £38.00.

7.fit replacement mud guard £20.00.

8.another free tyre (plugged and fitted) £10.00.

9.oil + filter and new gasket £32.00.

10.exhast and cutting it down £50.00 salvaged link pipe from a scrap bin :D


Think i will go over my budget spent £343.00 up to now :(

well some more fairing parts have now arrived ....thanks evil bay :lol:

some was cheap some was not ,so heres what ive bought

11.right hand side panel £45.00.

12.left hand side £20.00.

13.nose cone £24.00 these are as rare as hens teeth :lol: .

14.bottom belly fairing £28.00.


I ve just fitted them loose at the moment need a few brackets and screws ,just wanted to see what it looked like....

I like watching these threads too, always good to see progress. And there seem to be more and more projects sprouting out of no where!

Thanks m8 its coming on ,got a rear hugger £13.00 and a screen £16.00 and they guy dropped it off (ebay)...

ive taken the down pipes off as there was a slight blow from one of the pipes,thought it might just need tightening up at the top also bought some heat proof matt black to tidy them up too.

however theres a few holes were it clamps to the engine and at the bottom were they join together there all peppered with holes and very rusty ,dont know if they can be repaired.But im still having fun

at the bottom of the down pipes you just need to cut plates big enough to cover the bad area and weld them straight over the top dressing it into shape as you go not that hard to do

thanks stu ,just spent this evening fixing them i will let u know whats happening when i get it running just used a exhaust repair kit ,although i know that its only a temp fix thanks m8 :)

I took bike for a MOT last friday and after the guy checked it all over .........good news it passed with just one advisory just to tidy the cables around forks...he also said ive done a great job so far ,which kinda made me feel its all worth while :D

so all thats left to do is get some mirrors,couple of gaskits,sort the gears out and going to look for some better/new downpipes and tax and insure :)

then hopefully run it for a while then will do the paint next year

Ive changed the down pipes fitted some lush mirrors and sorted the oil leak and its now fully road legal too...first proper ride out today....cant wait :D

Lovely bike and great to see you fixing her up !

I don't think this thread does justice to the amount of work you have put in to it already

Can't wait to see the the paint job !

so at the end it has cost me £850.00 which included buying the bike putting a full T+T on it..now done 450 miles on it with no problems :D ........


But its time for it to go :(
