Bogof Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Every minimal bump my bike jumps! Its quite scary considering, what do I need to change, dampening, rebound? My suspension is fully adjustable, cause I got a tcat!!!! How do you know that? Is it actually insured and restricted now? Can't answer your question other than to say it's probably working as intended, personally I quite like feeling every bump and wouldn't want to forego the feedback I get through the suspension. Bonniebird Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Is your front suspension OK?Fork seals need replacing? Does the front end dip a lot when braking? Ony oil on the fork stanchions? Quote
Ingah Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 As the user of cheap suspension (i.e. preload adjustment only), i can tell you that if you shorten the spring via the preload adjuster it will be less bouncy, but bottom-out easier. Quote
Tango Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 It's a sports bike so the suspension will be firmer than your 125.You could take it to a specialist who can tune the suspension to your riding style and personal profile (weight, Height, etc)But get the restrictors fitted first........if you have an off the insurance company will not pay out if you've not got the relevant restrictors fitted..... Boro Jake Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 May be set up for pillion, check your manual everything will be there.... Quote
donhuzayfa Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 GUYS!!! Im insured, I've got restrictors fitted, I'm fully legal!!! Quote
donhuzayfa Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 Yeah but the firmness makes my bike move, at one point both wheels where off the ground, I think it's too stiff...could be sports settings? Quote
Bogof Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Yeah but the firmness makes my bike move, at one point both wheels where off the ground, I think it's too stiff...could be sports settings? If both wheels were off the ground you were travelling too fast. Before you start fiddling with suspension settings it might make sense to learn how to ride the bike first."This bike isn't doing what I expect it to do" might just equate to "I'm inexperienced on this style of bike and need to learn how to adjust my riding style to accommodate the bike"Think about it... donhuzayfa Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 Ok, I'll give it some time... Quote
Colin the Bear Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 You're going to fast. Now you know why you're restricted. Keep an eye on the speedo till you get used to the increase in performance. Your senses are tunes to the 125. My first ride on the old Z1000 was a step up from the 400 I'd been riding. Set off just the same...snicked up the box to where the 400 would be doing 35/40ish, looked down doing 90 Your new machine is more capable, so ease off and be a little more laid back with the throttle. You'll soon adapt Quote
Tango Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 GUYS!!! Im insured, I've got restrictors fitted, I'm fully legal!!!OK mate......it just sounded from some of your other threads that you were having trouble fitting the restrictors.......so, sorry for the misunderstanding.....we're just looking out for ya.... It may be that you're overdamped or preload is too much......but you will find with a sports bike that the suspension is firmer than you may be used to. So you've just got to give it a bit of time, take it a bit steady and get used to the bike. If after a couple of months riding you still feel it's too firm then try tweaking it. Did you get a Owners Handbook with the bike? That would normally have some suggested settings for different riding scenarios listed......just be carefull if you do try adjusting it yourself....you could end up making the bike unrideable if you're not carefull.Good Luck. Fozzie Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Ive gone 2 wheels off before on my current one, but it was a big ridge in the road that wasn't noticeable as you went down the hill. Is it that sort of thing as thats normal for you to have a sudden jolt. I doubt you came off the floor unless you heard your engine scream as the wheel span up with no load I think Megawatt can help you, or at least I think it was him who sorted Littlecats thundercat Quote
