dimmers Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 yeah, i've noticed that.luckily i fit in to the 'small' size (40), but there are a lot of guys i know that if they got in to biking, would really struggle to find gear that fit.not sure what else to say really... Quote
tryme Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 looks like ill be wearing a lot of layers underneath then lol. Quote
hedgehugger Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 You could always try *shock horror* womens sizes.A lot of stuff seems to be unisex despite being marketed as women's.An example would be a Weise Retro jacket. Both me and the OH have one, his was a 42, mine a 16. Can't see what the difference is in them. Mine fits me like a bag of spuds.Does the way a jacket zips up make a difference these days? Quote
tryme Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 I would go for unisex but would rather wear big clothes than womens lol Quote
dwb Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Try http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk.Appears to be dozens of size 36/38 leather jackets.Dave Quote

tryme Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 lol wow. mind you theres always a way round these things im sure ill find something i just got to try it on rather than online ordering and having to send bits back. Quote
hedgehugger Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 You can always go to a shop, try things on, go home to 'think about it' (lot of money to spend after all), then check them out online! You should by then at least know what size you are needing, and the actual shop may surprise you and be cheaper! Mighty Mariner Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Check out made to measure especially at this time of year it might not be as expensive as you thought. Quote
Rollingskies Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Like littlecat - have you tried kid sizes? I see kids on motorbikes with the full leathers. That failing all a certain auction site does made to measure leathers. I know because I nearly ordered one myself - and it doesn't need to be made in China. That said my sister got her wedding dress made in China and it was perfection - a proper designer copy for £150. You can get fully kitted up. Just requires some time looking to find the right one for you. Quote
Susieque Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 As others have said, you really do need to go and try some clothes on. The S,M,L thing varies quite a lot between different brands. I'm a size 14-16 in clothes, which I don't consider to be that big, but my textile jacket is XXL!!I don't get why you won't consider women's gear - there's no way anyone could tell that mine is specifically for a woman except when I'm wearing it!
