Boro Jake Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 is it worth it? was thinking of getting my fzs 600 done for hopefully more lower range. Also how much does it cost? Quote
Stu Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 yes smoother running better throttle response but you wont get more low range from it well not that yould really notice anyway you will probably find that you will gain a couple of bhp in places but not enough to write home about the main thing will be the smoothness and how well it runs are you on carbs or injection ? if injection you will need a power commander at around £300 plus dyno time carbs will cost £120- £250 ish if you are going to do it get a K&N air filter and better breathing end can too and you could gain more Quote

megawatt Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Dyno tuning is basically needed after major mods. Full race exhaust system, decat( getting rid of the cat under the engine or inside the silencer) or major engine work. Can be anything from 25 to 50 a run, 3 to 5 runs . Carb tuning normally more expensive than laptop fettling. Depending on the bike and extent of the mods it could be money well spent, but don,t expect noticeable power increases after fitting an air filter or road legal silencer. Quote
