steve s Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 do you do that with the two large nuts on the tops of the forks, under the h/bars ? Quote
rennie Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I've merged your 2 threads together!Sounds like it could be the head bearings! Quote
Colin the Bear Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 There's a complete restoration thread for the superdream on here. Quote
mealexme Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 (edited) do you do that with the two large nuts on the tops of the forks, under the h/bars ?If that was in reply to my post, sorry I deleted it because I wasnt sure if my advise was right lol. I said about it may be the yokes not being tight if its not the bearingsBasically you do them up with the bolts next to the forks on the yokes, not the bits on top of the actual forks. May be worth checking first because its easy and free, although I think the bearings are more of a likely answerEdit: and after re-reading your post and actually reading the part saying the wheel stays out of place then I change my mind to as eab says - its most likely the yokes rather than bearings Edited November 27, 2011 by mealexme Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 if you mean that it seems to twist slightly then as others have said it is likely that the yokes are loose and need to have the pinch bolts tightened up on the sides of the yokes just make sure you get the front wheel straight first Quote
steve s Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 thanks everyone ill try that first Quote
