XmisterIS Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I've noticed that the rear shock (at least I think it's the rear shock) creaks quite loudly when I sit on the bike and bounce the swingarm up and down. It's been doing it for a while. Is this normal? Quote
hammer5 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Isn't it oil filled? Bare in mind I'm no mechanic.. But if it is, then maybe its due a replacement, as on mine you have to replace it as you can't service it. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 check out the shock linkages that connect shock to frame and swinging arm as the bearings could be dry and need greasing up Quote
XmisterIS Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 I'll check it out ... I can't imagine that it will need a replacement, the bike has about 13K on the clock - I thought those shocks were good for 25K or more! Quote
Stu Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 On the centre shaft there is a rubber bush it will probably be that give it a squirt with wd40 and see if it stops and check what eab has said too Quote
XmisterIS Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Will do ... I think I may have gotten a bit enthusiastic with my pressure washer in the past! Quote

rushwind Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 its usually rubber bushes that creak, not metal Quote
