clashfan83 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Hi everyone. Wondered if you could help me out with my new helmet? I bought it recently and am having trouble with it fogging up. It came with two plastic bits which I think are the things that stop it fogging. My old helmet came with it already fitted and I never had a problem. My new one didn't have them fitted, and there are no instructions. It doesn't seem to be as easy as simply snapping it in, because the space where they fitted on my old helmet is pretty non-existance and non-flexible on my new one. I don't want to damage it! Can anyone help please? Hopefully the pictures will give you an idea.JillMy old helmet with the plastic bit in placehttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2043.jpgOld helmet with plastic bit removedhttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2040.jpgNew helmet with 'space'http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2041.jpgOld helmet's plastic bithttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2042.jpgNew helmet's plastic bithttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2046.jpgSecond plastic bit that came with new helmet. It's narrower but has larger plastic lumps on the fitting if that makes sense?http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2042.jpgAnd just a piccy of my new lid cos it's cool http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/ashfan83/DSCF2045.jpg Quote
Colin the Bear Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Best way to stop fogging up is to stop breathing. This may seriously limit the range of any journeys to the length of time you can hold your breath. Quote
Stu Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 it should just push between the rubber and outer shell! Quote
RiffmasterII Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Have you tried just pushing it into the gap, you probably cant see the gap as much because its a new lid. Quote
Throttled Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Your old helmet probably looked like your new helmet when it was new, it is just that now the seals have been forced apart more by the breath shield. I am sure if you pull the seal apart there will be fixings to slot the breath shield into. Quote
clashfan83 Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 I will try and force it in then. Show it who's boss Quote
clashfan83 Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 And Colin, I saw someone on tv yesterday holding their breath for over 9 minutes, I could see how far I can get in 9! Quote
RiffmasterII Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 9 minutes....you should be able to travel about 18 miles in that amount of time Quote
