Guest Hodgy Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 No contest mate, Michelin Pilot Roads will run rings around the Maxxis and be much cheaper in the long run because they will last twice as long. Quote

Danny-B- Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 For the sake of £15 i would go for the pilot roads too but Maxxis aint a bad tyre, most people who dismiss them have never tried them and just follow what others say.Pilot roads always get good reviews afaik and Maxxis tend to get mixed reviews, bad ones usually by people that havnt used them though.FWIW - Maxxis are seen as the budget brand and Michelin as the premium brand. Guest Hodgy Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 A friend had Maxxis fitted to his bike, a CB1000, they were ok for traction in the dry, not so good in the wet, but they didn't last very long, squared off quickly and soon wore out. Quote
cypek Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I had Maxxis Touring on my ninja for the last year and they were really good. Done maybe 8k miles on the front and slightly less on the rear, but only due to irreperable puncture. I have now fitted Michelin Pilot Roads and I must say they are not too bad either. Can't really fault them but I have a feeling somewhere deep down inside that I will go for Maxxis next time again Quote
TC Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I would go pilot roads as well. +1 great in the dry, wet and snow.inspire loads of confidence. I had the Maxxis before the pilot road 2s and wouldn't go back Quote
