looking through my service manual, i've noticed that my bike has 2 sets of plugs (i know it has 4 in total being a V twin), but it's the first bike i have had with 2 different sets of plugs, pmr8b long life for the inside and bpr6es on the outside. i was wondering if it would make any difference in performance/fuel consumption etc using the long life all round. i always used NGK platinum plugs in my cars and bikes. also, how long should i leave between changing the long life ones. :D

So this is a V Twin with 4 spark plugs? Trawled the net a bit but can't find much. I'd be sticking to the recommended plug type. Mixing and matching may cause you all sorts of problems and invalidate any warranty. You know how temperamental these fancy tractors can be.

I'm with CtheB. Stick with what it should have and you can't go wrong. Besides, any difference in performance/fuel economy will be so slight that its not worth bothering with. If its that that you're after then I'd start by removing the panniers when they aren't being used 8-)
