hello guys got a bit of a weird problem with my new bike which had been stored for a year.

so we've got it running and all appears well. Cleaned out the carbs, had them balanced, idles fine, runs fine, pulling smoothy through the gears.

the exhaust is a 4 into a collector box, then out through twin pipes, one either side.

What I've noticed is that the right hand exhaust gets noticeably hotter than the left.

same amount of exhaust gas 'appears' to be coming out the pipes, baffles seem ok, neither have holes or anything, under load sounds absolutely fine either side. doesn't sound like its running rich on the right. has new spark plugs put in last week - I haven;t checked these yet, but as idling fine I assume they are ok,

any ideas? is this normal?

thanks

On bikes with twin pipes one side is what they call the lead pipe this pipe will always get hotter then the other

It's nothing to worry about

My bike is the same

cheers stu.

thought they would run at the same temp to be honest, just because 4 into box into 2. I thought maybe there was an issue with the carbs / spark / coil / summat else expensive.

I've only ever owned bikes with a final single exhaust
