Throttled Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 A gel/air seat alternative, BumBags4Bikers, bought Aug 2012, eBay £25.http://www.bumbags4bikers.co.uk/3um3ags ... 49631.aspxThey are small bean bags that contain buckwheat and bigger versions are apparently used by monks when meditating to stop their legs from going to sleep. Unlike gel, the seat does not mold itself into one position, but as you move about it keeps reforming into a new position. So to start again as you get numb, you just wiggle about or plump it back up again.http://img.fw1.biz/resize/136500/rsz_sany0035.jpg/220/320/0/It is well made, straps under the seat and so far so good in staying waterproof and stopping my legs and bottom getting sore. As an added bonus, it dampens the vibration from the bike.I'll report back with longer use. Quote
Throttled Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 After 5 years of use, the pad felt as if it had nothing in it. I sent it back and it was refilled. Turns out the filling had gone flat. So, ready for another five years of use, since the cover is as good as it was when i first got it. Very impressive. Quote
