Tachometer Needle below 0.. HELP! (With Video)

Hello :)

Basically I have a Rieju rs2 50 (Dont hate because its a 50 :P I will become one of you 'proper' bikers one day) and the needle has gone below the 0 and up the the 12.

It looks like this. Ive photoshopped the needle to where it is on my bike.

But when I give it gas it still works as if the 12 was its 0 position. I have to think as it as being between 0-1 being the start of the redline.

Taking the tachometer apart isnt an option as ive already tried this and it doesn't come apart.

How can I fix this?

Thanks to any who help me.

how old is the bike if it is still under warranty it would be best to speak to dealer.it looks like the neddle may have slipped over the stop that is normally built into the clocks or failing that a 2nd hand set off ebay

Have you had the battery disconnected recently?

I have seen a similar issue on a moped which had had the battery disconnected and put back on with the ignition switched on.

To try to fix it, turn the ignition on and look for the twitch, if you have one you then need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, ignition off. Then touch the negative lead to the negative terminal. Switch on the ignition and as the needle does its little twitch, when it is at the lowest point, whip the negative terminal off. Then ignition off and start again. You should be able to very slowly edge it back around to the right place. At no point connect the battery with the ignition already on!

Nope didn't work :/ It only twitches a maximum of 1 millimetre. Which isnt enough to keep bringing it down as it wont go :/

Im uploading a video soon of what it does so ill Link it here.

I reckon the needle has turned on the shaft.

If you could stop the needle as it passes zero, you might be able to fix it.

Maybe drill a small hole in the side of the speedo, poke in a bit of wire, rev the bike until it hits Zero, and catch the needle with the wire. Hopefully the shaft will turn, and the needle stay still.

That sounds like a really good idea! Good thinking
