Hi all new here and sorry to start off with a rant

I bought some cans from the above for my sp1 having had a can off them 10 years ago for my kawasaki 636 which I was rather impressed with.

I bought some more from them a few months ago and when we were fitting them we noticed they came without a bracket that the original cans never had.I thought that was wierd but anyway fitted them then also realised that the stand doesn't flip up all the way any more.It goes about 75% of the way it used to and now sits right up against the exhaust vibrating against it. (HOW LONG BEFORE I HAVE A HOLE IN MY EXHAUST ?)

One of the bicycle style clips broke as it was being tightened and now you can't tighten it any more , tis broken , making the whole exhaust and downpipe very loose and shoddy I'm not happy as you may be able to tell.

IF IT WAS A £10 ITEM THEN YOU EXPECT THIS BUT WE HAND OVER MULTIPLE HUNDREDS , SOMETIMES THOUSANDS OF OUR BLOODY HARD EARNED CASH , MOTORBIKES AREN'T EXACTLY A CHEAP HOBBY ARE THEY , BLUE FLAME HAVE GONE FROM DE BEERS TO RATNERS IN MY OPINION AND I'M JUST DOING THIS TO WARN OTHERS TO BE CAREFUL AND CHECK WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY BUYING TO AVOID BEING MUGGED OFF LIKE MYSELF , RANT OVER.

Mikalor clamps are the daddy!

Blue flame make car exhausts too and I've always been a huge fan! Top quality stuff. So this shocks me a little. They didn't send the wrong one did they? Or simply forget to send the clamp? What was their response when you contacted them?

Welcome to the Forum mate........ 8-)

Shame about the exhaust....but as others have said you can get a replacement clamp of eBay or contact the seller. Which stand are you talking about.....Side stand or centre stand? A lot of replacement exhausts don't fit well with centre stands....always best to check before buying. I'm sure if you contact Blue Flame they'll sort something out for you.....don't cost anything to ask.....

Thanks for the replies guys , they are mikalor clamps you're right , has it stamped on the side , I've been looking on e bay but I didn't want to buy the same again !

I don't consider myself of superhuman strength , just average , to have snapped one and bent another surprised me.(I haven't mentioned that i got a clamp from the link pipe join and tried that and bent that too !)

I sent blue flame 6 e mails yesterday indicating I'm not happy but not abusive , don't know whether I'll get a response or not , someone on another forum suggested the letters "VTR" may have confused someone and I recieved firestorm pipes

sounds like the clamps have been overtightened... i broke the first one i ever got by overtightening it as i am abit hamfisted at time

have had another few since then and you feel when they are as tight as they are meant to be... used em on 2 stroke pipes as well as 4 bangers with great results

I can be kind of ham fisted too sometimes  The guy in the bike shop near me said you can feel the heat generated by the friction when you're tightening them and to stop if it gets too hot and go back to it.I bought some new clamps and fitted them and the system is back on the bike.

My problem with having no bracket and the side stand hasn't gone away though , I just wanted to warn the whole of the UK (although I'm sure they already know) if you can afford it always go for the top of the range stuff someone like akrapovic and not the Gerald Ratner option , someone like Blue flame "engineering".
