Kirium Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) Hi, looking to get back on a bike for the first time in 25 years ! things have changed a bit since then.My 16yr old is wanting a bike and this has peaked my interest again. Looking to do a DAS in the Grimsby area, any personal recommendations of where to go for training would be gratefully received. Also am I correct in thinking I need to do a CBT and a two part test ? Cheers, Matt Edited October 29, 2012 by Kirium Quote
OhJay Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Hi and welcome to TMBF and welcome back to biking You need to do a theory test as well I'm afraid. You can do your theory and your CBT in either order but you need both in order to do mod1 of the full test and then all three before you can do mod2. If you look to do an intensive week course then the first day will be CBT if you haven't got one already and you'll need to have done your theory before then, obviously. If you've got a 16 year old then you're clearly old enough that you don't have to worry about the licensing laws changing in the new year but you might find it a bit quieter in the new year when people aren't desperately scrambling to get their tests in before the laws all change. The only difference it will make to you is that you'll have to do your test on a 600 bike rather than a 500 you're allowed to do it on now. Quote
Tango Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Welcome to the Forum Matt....... I think that OhJay has pretty much covered the test side of things......bet you wished you did it 25yrs ago now.....much less complicated..... Good luck with it anyway...... Quote
fullscreenaging Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 HelloI can reccomend Airfield MCT http://www.airfieldmts.co.uk/You should be able to get all the info from the site. If not give them a call.I used them back in 2006. Ask for Gary to train you when you done your CBT. Top bloke. Always cool, calm and collected.Good luck. Quote
