Just noticed this as I was moving the bike around into the back garden, the brake light does work however I've noticed a slight problem with it.

Either it is on its way out or there is a connection problem because, if I put my foot down on the pedal for the rear brake, the light doesn't come on at all but if I pull on the front brake lever then it does but it would also flicker a little bit. I have tried with both several times, I'm not sure whether the builb is on its way out or just a connection issue.

Will pop down Halfords tomorrow and get a new builb just in case anyway...

if it lights up the bulb is fine!

You have two brake light switches, one on the Front brake lever, and the other on the Rear brake leaver.

if the light works from the Front brake, but not the back, the problem is with the Rear brake light switch.

The brake pedal wasn't pulling the spring/switch down far enough for the light to come on so I just adjusted it and tested it and it worked though I may need to adjust it again because I've noticed not five minutes ago that it still isn't right.
