Stu Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Having spent time and money repainting a cg 125 fuel tank think it was '84. I really wouldn't worry about the rust on the chrome. Just make sure the forks are kept clean. You'll be kicking yourself wasting money on how it looks when the piston rings go and they will.Duct tape the headlamp and make sure the aim is below your crotch.Super glue the ignition barrel. You have checked the engine and frame number match the v5. The pub storey is starting to sound suspect Nov everyone is in to bodging!!Yes you can get things re chromed not sure on cost though Ignition barrel will need looking at it could just be the screws have come out or it may need replacing Quote
Tango Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Good deal you get there Tim...... Have a look on eBay for CG bits....there's normally a stack of them on there..... Would the wheel rims clean up with some Solvol and elbow grease? I think it would be well worth a bit of time and money to sort that bike out.....it looks to be in generally fair nick.....and I'm sure that as long as you don't spend hundreds on it you'd get your money back when you sold it.....
