fatboyzmc Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 hi ,i am looking to tune/remap my gsxr1000k3 its got a full yoshi pipe,i am in the durham area does anyone know were i can get this done and how much more power would it produce, has anyone had this done and what was the outcome? cheers Quote
Stu Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I'm guessing you have a power commander fitted to your bike already? if not get saving for one as your going to need it not sure who can do it in your area but dyno bike in malton are good as for what power to expect its anyones guess as each bike is different and each dyno is different you will probablu gain about 5 horses if your lucky but the main difference will be how much smoother the power is delivered which is the main thing Quote
fatboyzmc Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 ok cheers maybe a might just drop a tooth on the front ? Quote
Stu Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 That's not going to do a lot for your fueling! Quote
Tango Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Unless the manufacturer of the exhaust states that no re-mapping is required you could end up with all sorts of stuff going on.....flat spots, cr*p fuel consumption, reduction in power, etc.... I'd be inclined to check on a Gixxer forum and see if anyone has the same can and if they got the bike re-mapped...... Quote
Stu Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 If its a full system you will need it mapping Worse case you could run lean which means it will run hot and you could put a hole in a piston! Don't take chances find out for sure if it needs mapping Quote
fatboyzmc Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 hello av only gone and found a receipt for mapping in the documents ha ha thats jammy Quote
Stu Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Still no harm in sticking it on a dyno for £20 and seeing if it is running right Quote
Tango Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 hello av only gone and found a receipt for mapping in the documents ha ha thats jammy How much was that then?......just out of curiosity...... Quote
Stu Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 you thinking of getting yours done Bob? I know someone who charges £100 for a power commander but dont you have to use tune ecu for the trumpets? Quote
Tango Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 No Stu....not thinking of getting mine done......I do it for nowt with Tune ECU..... But I am thinking of getting a suspension set-up done before the summer if I can...... Quote
Stu Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 you can do suspension your self its really easy there is some guides on here the main thing is setting your sag then once thats done its just adjusting your damping to how you like it Quote
Tango Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yeah, I've seen the guide and a few Youtube vids.....but I wondered if I took it to someone who really knew what they were about with suspension it could save some of the experimentation..... Quote
Stu Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 ok then again the same guy that does the dyno can do the suspension not sure what he charges though but he is good Quote
flipper Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yeah, I've seen the guide and a few Youtube vids.....but I wondered if I took it to someone who really knew what they were about with suspension it could save some of the experimentation..... ride, feel, adjust, ride again.if it's doing something you don't like then work out what it is and adjust from there. fatboyzmc Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 the remap was 55quid but the date was 2007 Quote
Stu Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 that is rather cheap so have you got a power commander fitted?if not then the remap will be through a yosh box and you will have to get that taken out if you fit a power commander Quote
