You are lucky theres the stories of a guy who put 2 full bottles of fizzy drink in his bike mistaking it for fuel additive and one who too the advice to put a rag into his fuel tank, with the end free and light the end on fire

So the fuel was getting into the float bowl, it just couldn't get out?

yep, really looks like I fixed it the first time I took carb apart and cleaned it & then it wouldnt work because I didnt assemble it properly

still not bad considering I've never even seen the inside of a carb until last week
