fromos Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Okay aint had time to look this problem over when my bike has been run in a bit 15 minutes of riding it starts to over rev at the lights or when you come to a stand still kinda like the choke is on i have tweaked the carb settings in case it was that and now its just ticking over but still over revs until the throttle has been blipped (turned ) a few times then it settles any ideas what this could be?carb ? or just sticky throttle cable.cheers fromos Quote
rennie Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Is the cable getting trapped somewhere? Quote
megawatt Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 If the throttle cable is adjusted correctly and is not trapped, it's probably the carb. Also check choke cable. Is it a CV carb? Quote
fromos Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 gs450 s 81 model i havent tried anything the carbs where stripped and cleaned no longer than 3 months ago and cleaned out as for the cable i havent had a proper look yet im gonna have a nose lube the cable up as for the carb im too busy through the day working by the time im home its too dark pain in the arse i tell you ill check the throttle cable first.fromos Quote
Bill_on_a_bike Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 If it's got slides they might be getting stuck up as well, you should grease them lightly when you rebuild it which you say was recent. This happen to my SR 125 once, just jammed open at full throttle, all 10 horsepower! Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 i would be looking at the cv rubbers and the inlet rubbers from carb to head Quote
