Raym Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Hi AllI am on the lookout for a good lock and chain , was going to go for a Oxford one but have read a few bad reviews on them Any advice would be great thanks Quote
Zod Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I recommend a good solid thick chain and lock. Check this one out: http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... prod/74216 Quote
Benn Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've read through a few of these threads (this topic has been thoroughly discussed several times) and it seems to be Almax chains and locks that are supposed to be the best. Pricey, but worth it. http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/ ... ts/c-1-73/ Quote
whitedevil Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Pragmasis or almax but be prepared to spend £200 if you want a chain that cant be cut with croppers Quote
al_stu Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I got a Aldi one. Yeah its not going to be rock solid, but its only supposed to be a deterant, if someone wants the bike that bad they'll take it.That said, if I had something a bit more valuable and stealable like my dream bike then I probably would go with something a bit more heavy. And a disc lock. And a shotgun. and sleep next to the bike. Quote
Joeman Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Pragmasis or almax but be prepared to spend £200 if you want a chain that cant be cut with croppersPay 200quid on a chain that can be sliced in half with a battery powered grinder??? No thanks!Chains will not stop theft, they are just a deterrent. Quote
Throttled Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I would recommend you get a Thatcham rated one. It will mean any insurance claim shows you did your best to secure the bike. Quote
Raym Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Thanks guys . It seems like buy a Thacham approved one and hope for the best Quote

NooBish-AbbZ Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I'm looking at getting a chain for my bike but looking to spend £100 at the absolute limit. Would it be better to get 1 £100 chain, or 2x £50 chains? At the moment looking at Thatcham and Almax Quote
