Hi people, heres the gist really: I rear sided my CBF125 on Saturday morning (going round a roundabout and hitting oil or something), the bikes pretty much fine just a few cosmetic scrapes and scratches that Ive fixed up with my uncle (looks good as new!).

Im abit concerned about my helmet though, theres not much visable damage (slight scratch on the visor) but should I do a more thorough inspection? is it a case of one fall and its rendered useless? total noob here so any advice is greatly appreciated!! :) cheers all.

Depends how hard you knocked it really? If it was quite hard i would probably throw it away as you don't know what may have happened inside. if it was a slight bump and theres no visible damage (except the visor scratch) it might be ok. Worth taking the lining out see if there is any damage.

But if you are in doubt, Get a new one, better be £100 out of pocket than dead :D

Bikes can be fixed, heads can't. I'd get a new helmet unless you're very confident you didn't give it much of a knock.

i'd do a quick search on the forum, this has come up lots of times before.

however, if you're really worried, then perhaps try and find someone who can check it professionally for you.

such a difficult decision though, as there may be absolutely nothing wrong with your helmet, but at the same time, something could have cracked... personally, i'd probably replace my helmet if i crashed in it and it hit the deck.

Hi if its just a scratch visor l think you be ok. If on the other hand it's took a hard it and badly scraped then a new one is in order.

It's one thing dropping an empty lid.....but something else entirely having any kind of impact with your head inside it. The shock absorbing foam could well have done it's job and saved your head from the impact....but that foam will now be compromised in that area....so personally I'd get a new lid.....

Get a new one. I trashed mine yesterday. Just a small scratch on the outside but when I pressed from inside on the spot I hit, it was lose, much softer than the other side. I wouldn't risk hitting the same spot again.
