neilzomg Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Turned the bike streetfighter, as the person who owned it crashed it and the pastics were cracked and being held together. So the easiest option was to scrap the whole front plastic fairing and just streetfighter it. I prefer the look of it now, But i just have a few problems. The speedometer was wrecked anyway so i removed it, the tachometer didnt work and either did the fuel gauge. so I removed that, and have another single universal speedo unit on its way. I just cant think of a way to mount it on the bike.http://s15.postimg.org/oz8m1i2zb/DSC_0332.jpghttp://s15.postimg.org/xwtbyuvfb/DSC_0333.jpghttp://s15.postimg.org/8cr1sfa1j/DSC_0334.jpg Quote
megawatt Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Need to see mounting options on gadget, for it mate. Post pix and I could make you a polished stainless bracket. Looks like use fairing mounting bolts or wraparound fork brackets. Quote
neilzomg Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 This is the one i've ordered, wanted this kind of style of speedo!http://42.120.44.200/ebaypic/boao/boaol ... T140/2.jpg Quote
megawatt Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 So just the one big hole then? I'd sugest rubber mounting it and bolting a 8mm bolt to a bracket bolted to those two fairing mounting bolts. Do me an accurate scale drawing and a cardboard model and I'll make one outta stainless? Quote
neilzomg Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 Ha! not sure how id go about doing that unless, i took the whole top yoke off and just did a stencil? Quote
megawatt Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 If you want to do it , you'll find a way mate. I'm here to help , but I haven't got the bike in front of me. Where are you? Quote
banditjohn Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 To me it looks like there are two captive nut's just below centre of the headlight, I can only take it that's where the pod fixed to. use them two as the starting point and you can use your friend with the stainless to make a flat plate with a hole foe the new arrival, you can then either come off of them or two s shaped brackets dropping from the stainless face if you see what I'm getting at.Johnps What area are you in and there may be someone nearby that can help out. neilzomg Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 I have a bracket that i took off where the original speedo was attatched. But the only problem is, i can't put the headlight on with it attatched as it gets in the way. Unless it was altered, or copied in a way that it wont cause any space issues on the bike Quote
