Ive marked sometimes but it would be mostly with a helmet I also have 2 kids who depend on me but dont tell me everyone wore there helmets round Butlins this year because you would be fibbing and we wern't going at 20mph...... I swore I wouldn't but when I did it was exhilarating and made me think what a great feeling it would be to have the choice.

I voted yes but again have done slow speeds without a lid. The feeling is so good, but the outcome could be fatal. As a teen I once dug my old moped out and thought I would take it for a blast, it wasnt until I had gone about a mile that I realised that I was without a lid, just totally forgot. It was all the old wrinklies at the bus stop pointing and tutting that made me realise.

We live on a private road, on which I've tried riding without.

It was awesome fun, however, going over 30MPH is impossible with the wind in your face (naked bike)... that said, an open helmet delivers similar thrills.

I can remember thinking: "Dude, you'd better not come off".

I've also been naughty and ridden in jeans + T-shirt. Again, there was an awesome sense of freedom.

It's best not to try it at all, then you don't know what you're missing.

Yep to a helmet, noooo doubt at all. As said by others, having been knocked off once, on a short trip to get petrol, I tend to go out fully kitted.

always would wear a helmet, 3 kids to live for, saying that have done it at lightwater valley in car park (not wear a helmet that is), walking pace mind you.

me face isnt that pretty but its all iv`e got, like to keep it that way. :)

Sometimes think wearing open face helmet is not worth it either..after all it may save your skull but could really smash up your jaw and face,so always a full face helmet for me.

Oh and for people who ride cruisers beards dont work as safety equipment :)

Unless as mentioned riding slowly through the docks.......always.

Also always wear gloves and full leathers and boots.........only exception taking bike 1 mile into town for service etc.

Still wear jacket and gloves though and hiking boots.

Would ALWAYS wear helmet. even if you going slow and come off, it could do some serious damage to your head. i also, like NigelWood1, had a small stone fly at me, hit side of my thigh leaving big bruise for such a tiny thing. and when we're out in the wet - we get splattered. fancy going behind a construction delivery wagon with dust blowing in your eyes? or worse we had a tractor in front, some thin metal bar had come off the back and was dragging through every puddle - it sprayed right over the front of the bike (even riding to right side of tractor) and we had endure this for a quarter of a mile until could get round it. we were very muddy!

defo......might spoil the hair...lol.....could save my life.

i'd never go without my lid....or the rest of my kit,if it comes down to it,

if we've got the gear...'wear it'

same with my horses...never ride without my hat an back protector!!

havnt voted yet, i have ridden nearly 20 miles when i went to pick up a girlfiend & she had forgotten hers at my house so i made her wear mine as she was prettier than me & it would have been a shame , i have had a crash & the helmet chin piece was split thru so also know the dangers but now having 2 kids & having suffered a broken jaw in my youth i think yes as eating thru a straw for 10 weeks was fkin crap

With the size of my ears my head would twist off if I didnt wear a lid. Plus all the obvious reasons of not wanting to die etc

2 many years of playing rugby, ears are a bit out of shape :D

I have an 4 year old AGV that was on my bonce during an 80mph highside, if anyone wants to ride without one, have a look at it first!!!!!

Voted sometimes. Back in the 80's in Norfolk i used to go night riding round the country lanes and always took the lid off in the summertime, it was a fantastic feeling. Yes it may have been stupid but i would have liked it to be my choice. When on holiday i sometimes rent a bike and if i am just pottering about local i don't have the lid but if i am going "somewhere" i put the lid on, my choice.
